The transition toward clean, flexible, and efficient industrial heating is essential for Europe to meet its climate neutrality objectives. Under the Horizon Europe call “Alternative heating systems for efficient, flexible and electrified heat generation in industry,” two ambitious projects, JOULIA and CARBOWAVE, have been launched to address this challenge through complementary technological approaches. Today, the JOULIA consortium is pleased to announce its official synergy with CARBOWAVE, reflecting their shared vision and coordinated efforts to advance the electrification of energy-intensive industrial processes.
A Shared Mission Under the Same EU Call
Although each project targets different industrial applications, JOULIA and CARBOWAVE are considered sister projects, as both are funded under the same Horizon Europe call and aim to reduce dependency on fossil-fuel-based heating through alternative, electrified solutions.
Their combined work contributes directly to key EU policy priorities including climate action, clean air, digitalisation, and industrial competitiveness.
