The JOULIA and eLITHE projects are joining efforts to advance the electrification of industrial heating processes, a key step toward Europe’s climate neutrality goals. Both initiatives, coordinated by CIRCE – Centro Tecnológico, share a common mission: to develop sustainable, efficient, and scalable electrification pathways for energy-intensive industries.
While JOULIA focuses on demonstrating clean industrial heating through induction and microwave technologies in sectors such as rubber and plastics, eLITHE addresses the decarbonisation of the ceramic industry by piloting electric and hybrid furnaces for high-temperature processes like melting, calcination, and firing.
This synergy builds on a shared vision of accelerating industrial electrification through innovation, demonstration, and knowledge exchange. The common coordination ensures strong alignment between the two projects, from technology development to policy recommendations, safety requirements, and stakeholder engagement.
By combining insights and results, JOULIA and eLITHE will reinforce each other’s impact, helping shape a cleaner, more efficient, and competitive European industrial landscape.
